The Cambridge Audio Amplifier has become one of the most important aspects of modern audio needs. Cambridge audio users get better sound quality from improved controls.

But there are so many amplifiers today that choosing the right one may be overwhelming. However, there are a few features, like the ones in the Cambridge Audio AXA35, that will give you satisfaction.

Many companies today are just too complicated, even if they offer great sounds with their amps. But the AXA35 presents a different side of the story.

This Axa35 integrated amplifier is simply easy to use and gives out just as great a sound quality as any other good amp out there. It may be just what you are looking for.

I will be providing a Cambridge audio review. So what makes the axa35 integrated Cambridge amplifier one of the best stereo amplifiers around?

What makes a great Stereo Amplifier?

It is important to consider the features of a good amplifier, just in case you want to find something better later. We will use this criteria to evaluate the axa35 integrated amplifier and rate things such as their frequency response, power consumption, power amp capabilities and their 35 watts per channel.

Here are a few things to look for.

Your needs

Why do you want to buy the amp? Is it for home audio needs or outdoor use?

Amplifiers come in different ranges according to user needs. By connecting any audio device to an amp, you will be able to get great output with more balanced functions.

But that is not all; each amp is built with varying capabilities. If you need one just for home use, it is very easy to pick any.

And if you are looking for outdoor functions, you may need to dig deeper into your pockets as well as functions.

It all comes down to power output, and the speakers supported. I would recommend you go for something that gives you a wide range of applications. After all, you never know when you may need to use heavy speakers.

The brand

Some may say this does matter as long as the amp gives you what you need. But I beg to differ.

There is so much power in a brand that could be the only thing that pushes some buyers to go for certain products. A brand is equal to quality.

A company like Cambridge audio has been on the market for several years now, building trust among consumers. Their products are considered to have the best quality standards, making them much easier to sell.

There are some companies that don’t just give the quality you may want.

A trustworthy brand means you can change the product anytime you discover issues. This is very important, especially when buying from online stores.

Sound quality

We use amplifiers because we want to get the best sound quality. This feature is ephemeral and almost impossible to quantify.

This could be one of the reasons audio companies load on features to attract customers. Some of them are just a show.

You buy audio devices because you want to listen to music. As such, the sound quality you get is equal to how much you will enjoy your investment.

Sound quality should not be compromised.

This is one area where the Cambridge Audio AXA35 comes out a winner. The company has not focused on too many and complicated features.

Just a simple gadget that gives out top-notch sounds.

About the Cambridge Audio AXA35

I recently bought brand new speakers and was looking for the best way to reap great sounds from them. A friend recommended the Cambridge Audio AXA35 Integrated Amplifier.

At first, I was not sure because I could not believe how much audio one can get for $350 to $500 in 2020.

There is so much technology, and many companies are expensive because they promise high-end features. Well, some deliver, but sound quality remains the most significant consideration.

I was using the Sonos before, which, though are not the best in terms of sound quality, but come with an incredible combination of wireless audio, voice control, and wide access to music.

The Cambridge Audio AXA does not, unfortunately, offer wireless connectivity, voice control, or loudspeaker. However, they come with a large room for growth, and by far, a superior sound quality.

That is all that matters today. For this reason, I have been using the device for quite a while now.

Cambridge Audio is a reputable brand that has been, for long, delivering a new generation of high-end, affordable integrated amplifiers. They have become essential in providing high-end music needs to listeners.

The AXA35 is one of the most affordable audio amplifiers. From the outside, it is a very small, compact, and portable gadget, but one that comes with surprisingly large sounds and feels.

The construction

Under the hood, you get a very tidy and neat arrangement with everything in the right place for the Axa35. There is an incredibly toroidal transformer on the left corner of the chassis. The Axa35 gives out 35 watts/channel into 8 ohms. But the Axa35 is more powerful in real use with most loudspeakers.

There is volume control, five source selection buttons, ¼ inch headphone jack, a 3.5mm AUX input jack, a menu button for accessing the bass, the treble, and balance controls.

On the rear, there are input jacks for five sources. These include a phone selection for a high-output moving magnet or a high-output moving cartridge coil.

As if that is not enough, Cambridge Audio has included a USB input. You can use this feature to charge your smartphone.

It is supplied with remote control, making it a full-size unit, with other Cambridge Audio components. This makes it a complete unit for all your audio requirements.

Features

The buttons under the display correspond to various analog inputs on the back. The volume button sits on the right as the 6.35mm headphone out and 3.5, AUX-in sandwich, the infrared receiver to the left of the gadget and features a beautiful front panel with a great bass boost.

There are also the balance and tone controls, which are tacked far in the menus system like the boost in the bass for the amp You get to adjust the bass and treble in only two steps, which is very strange.

The amp comes with a built-in moving magnet phono stage and powerful watts per channel for those with a budget turntable. And if you want more digital output, you may have to look for another alternative because the amplifier lacks Bluetooth or USB connectivity in the front panel. This is understandable at this price range.

Sound

One of the things I love most about the Cambridge Audio AXA35 is the confidence in its sound quality. I did not experience any wavering over the placement notes, or blurring of lines. From the carving out of the bass to the leading edge of a drum thwack, I enjoyed every output phono stage and 3 5mm jack.

It offers an incredible sense of power and weight with any music you play. And when it comes to delivering drama of the track, phono stage, the dynamic skills of this player make it all a reality.

Pros

  • Very affordable
  • Simple design and easy to use
  • From a reputable brand
  • High-quality sound delivery
  • 3 5mm bass treble jack near the front panel
  • 80 of rated power for the Cambridge axa35

Cons

  • Some users don’t find simple sounds compelling enough.
  • Axa35 does not have Bluetooth or a PC-USB connection.

Should you buy it?

If you pair with the right speakers, the Cambridge Audio AXA35 will give you an incredible experience. Axa35 offers a warm tonal balance and unrivaled presence for all genres of music. But it does not have an internal streamer and DAC.

At this price, however, I think the Axa35 is a good investment. For those with simple needs, Axa35 is a good recommendation. We hope you got a lot of value from our Cambridge audio reviews and will look into an excellent Cambridge axa35 integrated amplifier for your own audio needs and power consumption 0.
