Caroline Georgina Corr MBE is an Irish singer and drummer who is a fantastic talent. She was born on the 17th of March in 1973 which is a nationally recognized day in Ireland known as St. Patrick’s day. She was born in Dundalk, Louth, Ireland, located on the east coast of Ireland.

Her parents are Catholics, and she has three siblings, namely Sharon Corr, Jim Corr, and Andrea Corr. They all went to the same school, Dun Lughaidh Convent. Apart from playing drums, Corr also plays percussion, piano, vocals, tambourine, the cajon, and the bodhran.

Playing several instruments is what makes Caroline Corr a vital contributor to her band. Fans love her so much so they named her ‘Chick with Stick’ – a name that has given her a reputation for being an beast behind the drum set. Her favorite music genres are Celtic, Rock, and Pop, and she also enjoys a few other minor genres.

Her inspiration to drum came from her parents, Jean Sang, and Gerry, who played folk tunes and ballads for a local band. However, her parents later formed a band and named it ‘Sound Affair.’

Her and her sister would often travel with their parents to gigs in their family car which made Caroline fall in love with music, instruments, and the music industry. However, Caroline was taught piano by her father when she was very young, but she learned the Bodhran through watching videos of traditional Irish songs.

Her parents initially wanted her to learn the violin, but Caroline did not show much interest in the instrument; thus, Sharon was given a chance to dedicate herself to drumming. Caroline started learning how to play drums thanks to her boyfriend’s help – who was a good drummer. However, after that, she practiced by herself and developed a lot of skill to her craft.

Caroline and her sister performed a cover of Jimmy MacCarthy‘s song ‘No Frontiers’ during a Corrs Unplugged event. In 2020, Corr collaborated with other Irish female singers and musicians to record a version of “Dreams.”

The group was given the name ‘Irish Women in Harmony,’ and it aimed to aid the charity of SafeIreland, a group that focuses on the reduction of domestic violence. Caroline is the Celtic Folk Rock Band drummer, and it is safe to say they have done fantastic work.

She has been involved in the release of several albums that include Forgiven not Forgotten released in 1995, Talk on Corners released in 1997, in Blue recorded in 2000, Borrowed Heaven-2004, Home-2005, White Light-2015, and Jupiter Calling-2017.

In 2002, Corr started her family after marrying Frank Woods – a property developer. Corr and her boyfriend had already been in a relationship for an extended period of time.

They had their first child in August 2002, and Corr named him Gerald after her late brother who was hit by a car while retrieving a ball from the road. Caroline had her first daughter in 2004 and her third child in 2006.

The couple separated in October 2020 after some family conflicts. However, despite her difficult family life and different challenges, Corr has remained outstanding in the music industry. Her hard work, determination, and perseverance have earned her great fame – and rightfully so.
