From the fledgling phases of The Summer Set in 2007, Jess Bowen has embarked on several sold-out world tours from South America to Asia. Of course, The Summer Set’s music has augmented its footprints to feature in several TV shows, including Good Morning America and ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.
Most interestingly, The Summer Set was presented at the iHeartRadio Music Festival apace with acts such as Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake. In 2013, the band was privileged to stage at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. In 2015, Jess Bowen performed in a national TV Pepsi campaign alongside Charli XCX. The drummer’s experience level has seen her offer drum lessons and teach basic skills and warm-ups on the kit.
Jess Bowen co-founded The Summer Set in 2007 as a teen in Arizona. The Summer Set flaunts a myriad of much-vaunted albums under their belt. Moreover, the band has toured globally and performed in various events, including Slum Dunk Festival, Soundwave Music Festival, and many more. The Summer Set Band has had numerous songs featured on a variety of radio and television shows.
Since 2017, Jess Bowen has navigated her acclaimed professional career as a touring drummer and performed with various artists such as Alice Glass, Thomas Ian Nicholas, The Ready Set, Tessa Violet, and Dia Frampton, to mention a few. And yes, the drummer has featured in renowned magazines such as Modern Drummer, Alternative Press, Drum!, and Tom Tom Magazine.
In 2014, Jess Bowen was nominated for “Best Drummer” at the Alternative Press Awards. The drummer flaunts building a solid professional career and is well-known to audiences globally for the energy she initiates while performing. Jess’s drumming skills infuse an incredible feeling into the music. Born and bred in a drum-playing family, she grew up following the footsteps of her older brother and dad.
Her greatest influences include renowned drummers such as Dave Grohl, Sheila E, and Travis Barker. Impressively, Jess Bowen is endorsed by numerous recognized brands, including Sabian Cymbals, Remo Percussion, DW Drums, and Vater Drum Sticks. Jess Bowen plays a four-piece SJC Custom drum kit for those interested in gear, coinciding with four Sabian cymbals: a 20 Metal Crash, a 21” HHX Legacy ride, a 22” HHX Legacy ride, and 14” AAX Fast hats.
Besides drumming, Jess is a radio presenter mostly interviewing aspiring female figures in the music ecosystem. She maintains that Remo Heads are by far the most durable and great-sounding heads she has ever used. The drummer naturally acquired coordination and rhythm from listening to his older brother and dad play drums every day. Her career hit the road running, playing in the school jazz band.
