Selected features
An amplifier
The Onkyo TX-NR595 comes with a seven-channel amplifier that pumps 80 power watts into 8 ohms. It also comes with a stable performance at 4 ohms.
Manufacturers for most receivers have dropped the front extensive channel support since 2016. And Onkyo is not an exception as it does not come with this configuration. The Onkyo tx nr 595 has 6 HDMI power inputs with HDCP 2.3 future firmware update copy protection. It works with sonos with a chromecast built-in phono stage for connecting the cartridge output of the turntable directly to the onkyo digital receiver. I’m sure we’ll see even greater quantities of HDCP for future firmware update in the upcoming versions.
The Onkyo tx-nr595 offers virtual x and neural x. Virtual x is the latest innovatation by DTS, a company that specialized in object based audio technology that is featured in movie theaters and included in AV receivers and sound bars. It uses intricate audio cues to tell your brain where sounds are coming from, even when they’re not. Neural X incorporates dolby atmos height feautre in Dolby amtos processes in that it upmixes regular 2, 5 or 7 channel soundtracks to add overhead audiop sound information whena tidal deezer are detected in your system. Neural x is quite similar to the new dolby atmos height surround, but instead can process incoming mono signals and remix them for 7,9 or 11 speakers.
Neural x replaces x dts and guarantees an audibly wider dynamic range with tidal deezer. The Receiver has 4K passthrough up to 60p and has 4K upscaling up to 30p. It can bypass HDR10, Dolby Vision and Hybrid Log Gamma. 4k upscaling means the process in which the blu-ray player enhances the original input audio power quality. 4k native content means that the disc contains content of 4k ultra HD quality. In essence, 4k upscaling is much better than what’s standard definition. 4k upscaling is much better than just 4k native content.
But is x dts worth it? If you take your home seriously and you’re looking at buying a new A/V 4k receiver, object-based audio sound including both Dolby Atomos and x dts, then it’s worthy your money. Unfortunaly netflix does not support x dts. And neither does Amazon Prime video; But blu-ray discs uses x dts and dts x to improve audio quality because you lose a lot less sound information than regular DVDS.
Dolby functions
If you are looking for an excellent Dolby Atmos and Dolby Surround mixer function in your receiver, this could be an incredible choice. You can configure this machine with up to 5.1.2 channel configuration through its internal amplifiers. If the contest ins’t combined with Dolby atmos height, then the Dolby surround upmixer will likely expand the audio to all channels including the speaker layout.
For those who don’t know Dolby Atmos, it is the first cinematic audio format where sound exists individually and entities – it is referred to as audio objects. This means any sound – a melodic bird, a car honk, a screech, and anything else – exist independently from any channel restrictions. Hence, you can set them up anywhere in the room. Dolby changes your room into a fantastic entertainment center by combining audio objects, overhead sounds, incredible richness, and the Dolby Atmos sound. It makes you feel like you are inside the action. For home entertainment, Dolby offers every sound with the cinematic quality as audio objects. It can be extended to Dolby Audio codes and used with advanced, scalable algorithms, which allows Dolby Atmos to come out through Blu-Ray disc and media streaming.
Onkyo tx-nr595 inclusion of spatially-coded substream into the Dolby TrueHD or Dolby Digital Plus gives your home theater-like feeling. You can connect up to seven speakers to more than 34 in 24.1.10 configuration. With this feature, you get the real feeling of the artistic concept. It also reconstructs the director’s original mind using descriptive metadata for customized playback. Your home will sound incredibly natural through the overhead speakers. Please note that you will have to mix this content in the Dolby Atmos and Dolby surround upmixer. But if it’s not, the feature will expand the audio in all channels, even the ceiling speakers.
Supports DTS:X and Neural:X mixer
The Onkyo TX-NR595 goes beyond just offering incredible sound. It supports the DTS:X alongside its neural:X. You can configure it with up to 5.1.2 channel setting with internal amps.
The DTS:X uses similar tech to the Dolby Atmos. However, the DTS:X described objects from the listener’s polar coordinates, unlike the fixed number of channels in the Dolby. From here, an AV receiver takes up the sound delivery in a dynamic wave according to the speaker settings.
The speaker configuration used in this function is the sum on the Dolby and the Auro-3D. It features a standard 7.1 channels base layer alongside a 5-channel height layer above the bass. This configuration is completed with three rows of speakers in the arctic. The DTS Neural:X mixer has replaced the DTS Neo family, bringing onboard, improved flexibility. It is a new mixer that transfers any non-DTS :X content to the DTS:X speaker layout.
Dynamic amplification of sound
When it comes to the best audio, it is all about the weight and clarity that comes out. In this case, the TX-N595 has taken the lead by far. It comes with a Dynamic Audio Amplification feature from Onkyo’s philosophy. It focuses on capturing the strength and dynamism within the audio signal and reproduces it without losing.
The audio signals are different from test tones because they are not static. They come as a massive volume of continually moving waves. Most best stereo amplifier come with static measurements like S/N ratio and Total Harmonic Distortion – which are all critical. Nevertheless, Onkyo’s philosophy on excellent dynamic and transparent response is based on an emotionally evolving tone.\
There is no music without dynamism, and that’s what Onkyo is all about. And it can only be achieved when the amp can respond effectively to the alteration in the signal instantaneously. This means the note starts and stops flawlessly, whereas the attack, decay, sustain, and release are all voiced with energy and focus.\
Onkyo has more than 70 years of experience in amplifier design. And this experience is represented in the Onkyo home theater. These are unique elements for the amplification systems from this manufacturer, which combine high-current, low-impedance construction to control large speaker cones. At the same time, technology ensures control over the response to dynamic changes. Its discrete and wide-range amp circuit topology achieves critical elimination of phase shift presenting a clear and accurate audio imaging.
Other features
The Onkyo TX- NR595 comes with a Wide Range Amp Technology (WRAT) circuitry that prevents phase shifting. It does so by pushing the roll-off point above the listening frequency. Using this feature creates a unique, well-focused, and realistic audio image. Onkyo achieves music compression enhancement by applying the Advanced Music Optimizer function. MP3 and AAC files sound great through headphones when using a portable digital player, but their limitation is revealed when played back in a quality home entertainment system. This happens because they come with a vast amount of high-frequency, which loses some information.
The Advanced Music Optimizer is used to compensate for these issues. Phase Matching boost is another feature that makes the Onkyo TX-NR595 worth the dollar. This feature helps regulate the adverse effects of phase-shift. Room correction and video features offer incredible musical sounds at all power levels. It ensures the listener receives original sounding tones from their music.
Connectivity
You can connect the Onkyo TX-NR595 through the internet using ethernet cables and a built-in Wi-Fi adapter. It can also be connected through Bluetooth function. This receiver is also compatible with Sonos and AirPlay 2. It features 6 power HDMI inputs with HDCP 2.3. The phono input is present for direction connection of turntables and additional power.

- Phono hdmi inputs
- All-round home entertainment system.
- Easy to control everything with remote app
- Works with sonos port – the receiver turns on and stabilizes the right input when selecting the app
