Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless

The SteelSeries Artis Pro is one of the best headphones you will find out there. As a drummer, especially one who uses an electronic drum, headphones are among the most crucial accessories you will need.

Choosing the right one is therefore very important. Among the features to consider are the sound quality and comfort. Some of them might be quite expensive, but they will be worth your investment.

In this guide, I will be reviewing the wireless SteelSeries Arctis Pro.

In a nutshell, this is a handy transmitter that features its own controls and display. You get both Bluetooth and wired connectivity as backup, just to keep you going.

SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless Review

SteelSeries is not a new name for gamers. The company is known for making a wide range of gaming headphones, with budget-priced wired and more expensive models.

The Arctis Pro is in the line of more expensive, highest-quality headphones. Its price tag, audio settings, performance, build quality and features are all top-notch.

It’s defined by a dedicated transmitter, with its screen for adjustment of sources and EQ settings. It allows you to work audio mixing too, all without touching your PC or game console.

That is not all, the headphones come with two batteries – you don’t have to plug them in to charge. You can keep one battery in the base station of the transmitter while gaming with the other. Enjoy Bluetooth connection and wired options. You can use it with your smartphone, instead of walking around with your transmitter.

A full set of features, strong audio performance, and comfort make this piece something to feel proud of. I have used this pair of headphones and not once has it disappointed me.

Construction

The Arctis Pro comes with a design similar to the Wired Arctis Pro + GameDAC. However, it features a battery and Bluetooth controls, with lacking-colored lighting on the controls.

It is black in colors, with rubberized plastic earcups. The earpads are soft, covered with breathable fabric, making them a fit for most ears. Its black iodized metal headband holds each earcup perfectly in place.

Another feature that makes this design stand out is the elastic strap that runs along the length of the headband. This piece assures adjustable suspension that places the headphones at an elevated position from your scalp. It can therefore fit comfortably, even on a large head, allowing one to use it for a longer period.

It is more understated than the Astro Gaming A50. It’s also more comfortable.

Most of the controls are on the left earcup. It also contains the connectors. The first button from the back down is the mic mute button, a clickable multi-purpose volume knob, headset connector, a 3.5mm pass-through for allowing others to hear the audio, a micro-USB port, and a boom mic. Power and Bluetooth buttons are on the right earcup and the indicators buttons.

The transmitter

The transmitter comes in the shape of an Apple TV, featuring a monochrome OLED display, a clickable dial, and a separate back by button. On the right is the battery slot, with 3.5mm and audio ins/outs to use with the included cable. The transmitter can handle high-res audio payback through the headset.

This transmitter has everything you would want from a wireless gaming headset.

Other features

Apart from the features above, the headset comes with:

• Connectivity and microphone. You can use it with a PC or PS4 through the USB.

• Music Performance. The headphone packs an excellent music capability with plenty of bass.

• Game performance. The Arctis Wireless uses DTS headphone:X for a simulated surround sound.

Pros

• Top-notch sound quality

• Comfortable

• Lots of connectivity

Cons

• Expensive

Verdict

If you have the money, investing in the SteelSeries Pro would be an excellent idea. It’s one of the most full-featured gaming headsets you will find out there.

Is the SteelSeries Arctis Pro wireless worth it?

Yes. The Steel Pro Arctis Pro Wireless sounds out of this world, delivering top-notch audio quality for your game audio. It is a gaming headset with all the features you could expect from such products. It features Bluetooth connectivity and a powerful transmitter with a display. It does not only look great but sounds excellent, which justifies its price.

But if you are looking for a strong performance without spending too much, consider the Astro Gaming A20 and Arctis 7. These are still good wireless headsets that put up a nice performance.

What comes with SteelSeries Arctis Pro wireless?

The Arctis Pro comes with a dedicated transmitter featuring its own screen. This allows the user to adjust sources, EQ, and audio mixing straight from the headset. You also get two batteries, allowing you to charge without having to plug it in.

On this device, you are sure of a full feature set, strong audio performance, and great comfort. It has everything you would ever want from a gaming headphone. But the features don’t come cheap as you would have to dig deeper in your pocket.

Which is better Astro A50 or Arctis Pro wireless?

In terms of features and performance, Arctis Pro Wireless is slightly better than the Astro A50 Gen 4 Wireless 2019. The Arctis may have a lower consistency in frequency response, but you can tweak the sound on the fly using the EQ on the wireless transmitter to get better performance and surround sound.

Astro is wireless-only, while Arctis can be used as both wireless and wired. This makes them more versatile. But the Astro is a bit more in terms of comfort and comes with a better-balanced sound out-of-the-box.
