Florrie is a singer, songwriter, drummer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. She was born Florence Arnold on 28 December 1988 in Bristol, where she attended Colston’s Girls’ School.
Florrie Early Career
From the very beginning, Florrie became interested in playing the drums when she was in Greece on a family holiday at age six.
She started her own band called Fi-Fi Saloon when she was a teenager, the band performed Avril Lavigne covers and original songs

When she was 17 years old, she moved to London and gigged with several bands including Selfservice, who signed a development deal with songwriter Guy Chambers.
Florrie performed with Selfservice at night and worked part-time as a nanny during the day.
A meeting with the manager of Australian singer Gabriella Cilmi led Florrie to a successful audition as the female drummer in the house band of Xenomania, the successful Kent-based production team.
Florrie’s first job was playing on Girls Aloud’s 2008 single called “The Promise”.
Florrie’s Journey as a Drummer
Florrie began a solo career in 2010. She has drawn positive reactions from the online music community for releasing her own material in collaboration with remixers such as Fred Falke.
Not to mention that she is also best known as a drummer. She has toured and played with various artists like Mika, Hot Chip, Calvin Harris, and Groove Armada. In 2009, she was nominated for ‘Best Newcomer’ at the NME Awards.

Florrie’s Debut Album
Florrie began working with American producer Benny Blanco on material for her debut album, which is due for release later this year via Epic Records.
In an interview with The Guardian in 2012, Florrie said “I love being a drummer! I have tried other instruments, but the drums are my main passion. It’s so exhilarating feeling your drumming in your body.”
Her debut single ‘Real Love’ was released on 29 April 2012, and her debut EP “Concentrate”, featuring four tracks including Real Love, was released on 26 May 2012. Her second EP “Sirens” was out on 19 November 2012.
Florrie’s second single was a re-release of ‘New In Town’, which showcases Florrie’s use of skittering beats as well as her soulful vocals. The single was featured as BBC Radio 1’s ‘Track of the Day’ on 10 August 2009 and peaked at number 11 in the UK Dance Chart.
Regularly Composes Her Own Songs
Besides being very talented in the field of drumming, she also regularly composes songs on her own laptop using GarageBand. Furthermore, Florrie has previously worked with producers Diplo and Robo.
Florrie is currently signed to Parlophone Records in the UK and Next Wave Records in the US.
It is clear that Florrie’s passion lies with drums, and she has been recognized for her talent in this area. Her skills in drumming are unquestionable, she has toured with some of the biggest names in music and continues to write and produce her own music.
