Morris Palter is one of the best drummers in the world. His contemporary/classical chamber and solo percussion music are top-notch, and he also plays novelty ragtime xylophone and drum kit quite well. Biography and Career of Morris Palter

Morris Palter was born in Canada. He is a Canadian drummer and percussionist. He is best known for being a founding member of the band Treble Charger. Palter was one of the first members, along with Greig Nori, Rosie Martin, and Bill Priddle. Though the band was originally named NC-17, an American band of the same name threatened to sue, hence “Treble Charger” was born.

The group’s first hit “Red” was written by Bill Priddle and was also re-recorded for their 1997 album Maybe It’s Me. The second version seemed to be more of a success but wasn’t posted as one because their first album NC-17 was also re-released that same year.

Treble Charger was originally an indie rock group until its 1997 album Maybe It’s Me, which was the band’s transition to pop-punk. In 2001, Wide Awake Bored was their first official bubblegum pop-punk album.

It was Morris Palter’s last album with the group, as he was fired in 1996. He moved to the Netherlands where he studied percussion at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Morris then earned his Doctorate degree under Steven Schick at the University of California, San Diego.

Throughout his career, He has toured throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, performing in a wide variety of festivals and concert recitals, including the Disney Hall in Los Angeles, the Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall under Pierre Boulez. Morris Palter also ever appeared on CBC Radio’s Sounds.

Furthermore, he is also a university professor and has composed music for various ensembles, including the Kronos Quartet. Palter also founded the SpeakEasy Duo, which has appeared internationally at various festivals. He also co-founded NOISE (San Diego New Music) and was a member of the percussion group redfish bluefish from 1999 to 2005.

Palter is an accomplished drummer, and his work with Treble Charger has helped to define the band’s sound. He is also a talented composer and university professor. In addition to his work with Treble Charger, Morris Palter has also composed music for film and television.

He has composed the scores for the films “The Five Senses” and “In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale”. Palter has also composed music for the television series “The Tudors” and “The Borgias”. He has been nominated for three Emmy Awards for his work on the latter two series.
