In the world of drumming, Paul Mazurkiewicz is an example of what many may call a legend. Born 8 September 1968, Paul is an American drummer known for his excellent works. Most know him for his as the best drummer for death of metal band Cannibal Corpse.
Paul Mazurkiewicz started drumming for the band Tirant Sing and two other members, Chris Barnes and Bob Rusty, who later joined Cannibal Corpse. Later in 1988, the three-member joined Alex Websters and Jack Owen, forming the Cannibal Corpse.
One thing that amazes many who know him is his self-taught skills. His skills have grown to be truly remarkable and unique. Mazurkiewicz’s playing style has always been the foundation of the technical brutality witnessed in Corpse’s tracks.
The drumming world has so many imitators. And yet, somehow, Mazurkiewicz’s playing can be instantly recognized. He has helped the brand stand out from all other bands as an incredible music group.
He started learning drums at an early age. With the demanding nature of the hard metal world, he started by adapting to the metronome. We all know it’s very crucial to keeping time and the right-click. You can hear this in the “Evisceration Plague.”
Over the years, he has managed to come out into his own personality, using a click track. He has then increased the caliber of his playing with every work he has worked on.
Besides drumming, he is also a great guitarist and serves as the group’s lyricist. He is one of the biggest contributors to the group song composition. Some of the best work from the band, the line “Dead Human Collection,” “Frantic Disembowelment,” and “Monolith, are his penning. He has worked tirelessly along with Webster. They are the remaining original members of the band since it started.
There are not many drummers who have come such a long distance in their career. The hard metal world can get extreme at times and requires patience. So far, Mazurkiewicz has been able to stand out as a role model.
They say a drummer is only as good as the instruments they play. And this is true with Mazurkiewicz, who uses and endorses Ddrum drums and Zildjian cymbals. His pedals are Kopyto, while his drumsticks are Regal Tips. He also played and endorsed Tama Drums.
As a hard rock drummer, you can expect him to have a full kit. He has created his own unique setup that produces sound like no other kit would.
Not very much is known about Mazurkiewicz’s personal life. But he divorced in 2019, has one daughter, and lives with his family and animals on his property.
There seem to be nothing much in this life that has influenced his drumming. Therefore, It’s excellent how he has grown into one of the most recognized rock and metal drummers in the world.
Over the years, he worked on several records that have impressed many. He continues to contribute by motivating young and upcoming stars who want to make it in life.
